The Breastfeeding Beginnings Class at Well Rounded Maternity Center is a class that combines preparation for the breastfeeding journey and troubleshooting any issues for new mothers. I believe that it’s important to not only talk about the logistics and preparations for breastfeeding, but to actually see and interact with other nursing mothers.   

In this class we’ll cover :
-The best start, getting breastfeeding established
-How to assure a good latch
-Milk supply and how it REALLY works
-Biological nursing
-The benefits of breastfeeding
-Busting common breastfeeding myths
-How to conquer issues that may arise

Breastfeeding is the normal way to feed our infants. It is the healthiest feeding choice for our babies and mom's health benefits, too! Every highly regarded health organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months with complimentary foods and fluids until at minimum a year and many recommend continuing even longer. According to the most recent CDC statistics, only 35.9% of 3 month old and 9% of 6 month old Wisconsin infants are exclusively breastfeeding and only 16.4% are breastfeeding at all by their first birthday. The US national averages are similar.

Best Start Baby-Breasfeeding class will help you and your baby meet your breastfeeding goals for the healthiest start!

In class, we will focus on:
-Making a commitment
-Getting off to a great start
-Where to find breastfeeding resources and support
-How to support a breastfeeding mom and baby
-And, addressing your breastfeeding questions and concerns.

Through discussion, videos and hands on activities you will feel more prepared and empowered to breastfeed your baby and be rewarded by experiencing the benefits, pleasure, and joy that breastfeeding your child will bring.
