Provider: Debra Studey, CPM Location: Greater Milwaukee area & Well-Rounded Maternity Center Contact Info call 262-679-7375, or email: dsmidwyf@yahoo.com Birth works, we all know, and if supported through this natural process, we can bear witness to all the magic that a new life brings to our families. Women forever know what their bodies can do and know what they need to birth their own babies ... it is my goal to support you as your birth story unfolds, ... as gently and respectfully as is needed for an optimal birth experience. I have been serving our communities with out of hospital midwifery services for over 20 years, first becoming a Certified Professional Midwife in 1993 after I finished my direct-apprenticeship training, and becoming a licensed midwife in the state of Wisconsin in 2006. I have guided over 900 babies and am now serving some second generation families. Location: Serving women of southeastern Wisconsin & Well-Rounded Maternity Center Contact Info: call 262-626-4994, or email: jan@birthspirit.org, www.birthspirit.org The process of human childbirth is a normal physiological process perfectly designed by nature to bring babies into the world. It is an instinctive, primal experience that has it's own rhythm and pace which should be respected and honored, and works best when interfered with as little as possible. Women should be encouraged to be active participants in decision-making and self-care. |

When childbirth is experienced in this way, it has the potential to be a transformative event; women who take responsibility for their births and give birth to their babies under their |

own power, emerge from the experience empowered, with a new sense of their own capabilities. This transformation benefits not only that mother and her children, but the entire family unit, the community, the culture at large, and ultimately the world, as it encourages peaceful, loving, responsible relationships. As we birth, so we live. |
