"My first experience with the center was in the form of a Bradley class in 2003, before the birth of our first child. Coral's class was fun and informative, and Coral herself was a wonderful teacher who put us at relative ease with the many possibilities of the birth experience. After our daughter's birth, I learned about the weekly parenting support groups, and decided to attend the Tuesday and Wednesday groups. Those groups quickly became the backbone of my parenting week, and the people there became my friends and guides into the wonderful world of parenting. Around the same time I joined the Parenting Naturally Yahoo! group, a wealth of information and conversation. Then Coral opened the birth center, and I began to take part in the annual rummage sale for the benefit of the birth center. When she opened the Bellies and Babies Boutique at the birth center, she remembered my desire to work part-time without leaving my child, and offered me a position there. I've been here ever since. I love being involved in so many ways with the birth center, which is such a needed service in this area. My husband and I had just returned to the area and were seeking an alternative to a hospital setting for our birth. We took childbirth classes as well to prepare for a natural birth. After the birth, I joined a couple of support groups at the center. Many of the other Moms in the Parenting Naturally group were intrigued by the cloth diapers I was using and asked lots of questions.
